Day-to-day management and running of client PR accounts.
Brainstorm fresh ideas for client PR campaigns
Pitch press releases and feature ideas to journalists, across print, broadcast, and online platforms, to interest them in covering the client’s stories.
Arrange interviews and editorial meetings with key journalists for clients’ spokespeople - in person or over the phone - and facilitate these meetings where appropriate.
Monitor media coverage and report results to the wider team and client.
Attend client events and relevant industry events.
Assist senior management in developing and implementing monthly account planning and activities.
Identify and place clients in targeted high-level media and blog opportunities.
Establish strong relationships with knowledge of relevant media and blogs to generate awareness of client’s products, services, thought leadership, or activities.
Understand what success means to the client, then deliver on those results.
Add creative insight and problem-solving to all the above on a consistent basis.
Ensure all work is performed and delivered to the best possible standard within time and budget.
Demonstrate excellent attention to detail in all written communications, internal and external, including grammar, spelling, tone, clear structure, and newsworthiness where relevant.
Help grow client accounts organically, pro-actively highlighting new media coverage and highlighting any potential issues that may arise.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in public relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a PR environment, with proven success in managing client accounts.
Strong leadership and talent development skills, with experience managing team performance.
Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation skills with attention to detail.
Proven ability to secure media placements across various platforms (print, broadcast, digital).
In-depth understanding of social media tools and their application in PR campaigns.
Demonstrated ability to present complex industry information effectively to diverse audiences.
Excellent organizational and project management skills with a results-driven mindset.
Commercial acumen and experience developing new business opportunities.
Positive energy, creativity, and a strong work ethic.
